Customer Innovation Centre Opens
Wednesday 31st May saw the team at Knighton Foods celebrating the official opening of its brand new £120k Customer Innovation Centre. Opened by Mark Hughes – Procurement & Central Operations Director for Premier Foods, the centre has been designed to provide “an inspirational environment where free thinking, creativity and innovation can all come together”.
To create the Customer Innovation Centre the disused micro laboratory building at the Knighton site has, with a little bit of investment, been transformed. The new centre will now provide customers and other visitors with a comfortable, inspirational working environment enabling the Commercial and R&D teams to develop and present exciting new products to customers. The interior decoration of the centre celebrates Knighton’s history through the use of archived documents and imagery.
Richard Ilsley – CEO of Knighton Foods said “The opening of the innovation centre is just one of the steps that we are taking to bring to life and demonstrate the innovative thinking and capability of the team here at Knighton. A dedicated site facility where we can inspire our existing customers and capture the imagination of new ones, allowing us to realise the vision of establishing Knighton as a leading UK producer of speciality powdered products”
The site established in 1911 when Cadbury’s developed a milk collection facility to transport locally sourced milk to its facility in Bourneville, today Knighton Foods is a speciality producer of powdered products for some of the most recognised consumer brands in the world.
