The afternoon saw members of the fire & rescue service take part with 5 of appliances and the services Hazmat team training.
Within the scenario with which they were presented upon arrival, five members of staff from Knighton Foods were ‘missing’ within a closed off and secured part of the Knighton Foods manufacturing site
Knighton Foods CEO, Richard Ilsley said, “With Knighton Foods being so close to the Staffordshire, Shropshire border we are ideally placed to have hosted this training exercise. Not only did this exercise allow the cross-border Fire & Rescue services to train in this environment, it allowed our teams to review and ensure that our policies and procedures are robust and in place for an emergency.”
Mr Ilsley went on to say “The heroic work carried out by all the emergency services isn’t something that we often see unless we actually need them. For the people of Knighton and the site itself, it was great to be able to give something back to the Fire & Rescue services with this exercise.
